This event was notable not only for its location but also the journey to the location. On my trip there, I walked on some old train tracks that were turned into a park called the Highline.
I also passed the unique structure in the shape of a beehive so much so that it is named the Beehive Building.
This weeks' Social Club meeting location was interesting in that it was a large hang out area with multiple tables, many different food places that you could order food, 2 large big screen TVs (that had Olympic coverage from the Summer Olympics of 2021 in Japan interestingly enough), and multiple games including foosball, pool, turf, Connect Four, cornhole, and Giant Jenga. I played pool with one of the other Social Club members while other members played foosball.
I managed to win all 3 games we played.
In addition to playing pool, we all got to enjoy food from the market (I ordered shrimp) and had some good conversations on the recent political event of Joe Biden dropping out of the Presidential race and discussion on the surfing to occur in the upcoming Olympic games. The surfing will occur on a small French island in the South Pacific known for its huge waves.
Some final notes on the market. The noise level is moderate although far from the loudest place the Social Club visit. I would recommend bring earplugs and/or noise cancelling headphones. This meeting location was a hit amongst some of our group members and our group leader, Juliette, as there was consensus that this is a place we should visit again. People enjoyed this location because it was a large open area with lots of seating, it was not too crowed/not many tourists were there, there were 2 flat screen TVs, and there were a wide variety of games to play of which I mentioned earlier in the post. Additionally, there was a good selection of different places to get food/food options but not so many/too many where it becomes overwhelming to make a choice.
