Heavy rains fell this week so we did an indoor event at the Lego Store. The Lego Store features many different structures made of Legos including the Statue of Liberty.
This is a place I would recommend bringing earplugs and/or noise cancelling headphones as the music is played quiet loud here. I was also disappointed that a QR code on one of the displays did not give more information on it but rather has hidden advertising for a 3D printer.
We also visited a Harry Potter exhibit where we could make our own electronic Harry Potter character on a screen.
We were able to create Lego people using Legos at the store.
At this group meeting, we talked about how Tim Walz was recently named the Vice Presidential Nominee on the 2024 Democratic Presidential Ticket as well as the Olympic games in Paris.
Before leaving the store, I noted the large dragon hanging from the wall.
Upon going outside the Lego Store, we walked in the rain to Joe and the Juice, a grab and go food place that serves smoothies. Although the food and drinks were ok, this place had 2 primary issues. One was, like many locations, this place played their music too loud. In addition, when I asked someone who worked there if they would turn down the volume they said they would and they did not. I find it frustrating when people say they will do things and they do not. The other main issue was with the menu. For about 5 to 10 seconds, the menu would disappear and be replaced with advertisements before appearing again which made it difficult to place an order.
Should you attend Joe and the Juice, I would recommend one of their smoothies as they are quite tasty. Also, bring earplugs and/or noise cancelling headphones to reduce noise levels.
Upon finishing dinner, the rains just kept coming down making an umbrella necessary for my trip home.
